Very quiet place in the old city center. The house is composed of a double room, bathroom with shower and washing machine, a big living room with a double sofa be, kitchen. The house inside is well kept, furnished with care and the ceiling is made in the traditional way with beams and canes at sight.
Outside there is a big courtyard with a secular olive tree in the middle and a broad canopy where you park the car. In few minutes walking you can reach the many old churches spread in the old town, the museum, the main square with the shops and also the country side all around the town with its orchards, citrus plantations, the olive groves and the cultivate fields of the broad and fertile flat land of Orosei.
The nearest beach is the “Marina di Orosei” that you reach in 3 minutes by car otherwise you can go to the seaside places as “Su barone” and “Osalla” where the white beaches are bordered by wide pinewoods.
Driving north wards after 15 minutes you arrive to the hamlet of Sos Alinos where you only have to choose between the small beaches of Cala liberotto, Cala Ginepro, Sa Curcurica and the wonderful oasis of Biderosa where in spring take place the triathlon wolrd race T-Natura.
Most important town festivals:
-Saint Antony is the 16 of January, a very big bonfire is built in the Saint Antony court and visitors are offered with vine and typical products.
-For Easter all the churches are adorned with flowers and embroideries, the most important moment is celebrated in the morning of the Easter day when in the main square occurs “S’incontru”, the statues of the Madonna and Jesus meet each other being carried on the shoulders by the “Crofarios” members of the old religious brotherhoods. Every year as it happens from centuries the town is invaded by its inhabitants and tourists.
-The Santa Maria del mare festival, every last Sunday of May. In the morning the old wooden boats of the fisherman are decorated with flowers, afterwards they are carried to the Cedrino river from where they sail to the Saint Mary church. There, after the religious function, people are gift with sandwiches with sea salad.
-25 of July is the Patron saint day, Saint Jack. It’s a weekly festival during that many religious celebrations take place but there are also daily folklore exhibitions, musical events and there are many typical products sellers all around the Saint Jack square ant its neighborhood.
The Madonna del Rimedio: In the second Sunday of September starts this religious festival who lasts 18 days, the hot spot of the festival is the Rimedio sanctuary with his beautiful tree planted garden surrounded by the “Cumbissias”. The “cumbissias” are small lodges where many devotes families use to live for the entire 18 day festival. During the Madonna del Rimedio Festival occurs many religious celebrations but there are also many typical product sellers and close to the sanctuary there is a funfair.
